We head towards Puerto Ayora’s main dock; we embark the boat and start this unforgettable navigation towards the island of Floreana (cookies and chocolates will be given to the passengers during the navigation). Approximately at 14h00 we will disembark in Puerto Velasco Ibarra where we will get a brief introduction of the history of the island; we will then continue our way to the highland in a very popular transportation called chiva (bus with no doors nor windows) where we will be able to see Galapagos Tortoises in a semi-natural habitat, the caves which once were used by the pirates for shelter, the Asilo de la Paz (mirador) and the habitat of the Wittmers, one of the very first habitants on this island. We will also see how the natives get sweet water from natural rocky cracks; we in fact will have the opportunity to have some of this vital liquid while we rest.
